AT&T offers to buy T-Mobile USA for $39 Billion. The purchase price includes a cash payment of $25 Billion, with the balance to be paid using AT&T Stock. The new company would boast nearly 130 million cellular subscribers – merging AT&T’s 95.5 million customers with T-mobile’s 33.7 million. They would control almost half of all cellular subscribers. Verizon is the closet competitor with 94.1 million subscribers. To be honest at this rate there is probably going to be one mega cell phone in a couple years. Hopefully AT&T doesn’t start raising prices for their service.
